So, you think I'm nuts and want to know where I get my information?  ;-)

I get a lot of info from books.  But my favorite place to look is the internet.  One good place on the 'net to get information is e-lists!  You can listen to and join conversations about all kinds of topics.  Find all kind of research and get help deciphering it.  Here is a list of the e-lists that I am on or have been on:

Education

Many Paths
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Many-Paths/  This group is for home schoolers from all walks of life, all religions, etc.

Health

Food Allergy Network
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/foodallergynetwork/  This group is for sharing information regarding food allergies. The most common are wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, corn, peanuts, and shellfish. You may post about any allergen. We try to share sources of hidden allergens, medications, etc.
Just Say No 2 Vaccines
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jstsayno2vaccs/  This a good list for pet vaccine info. [I am no longer a member of this list.]

Parenting

Elimination Communication
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eliminationcommunication/  Quote from the group home page - "Elimination Communication is how unindustrialized tribal peoples and evolving humans cared for their babies WITHOUT diapers. :) Babies come into the world with the tools to tell us when they need to nurse, when they need to be held and also when the need to pee and poop. All you have to do is get in touch. :)"

Pregnancy and Birth

Birth After Cesarean
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BirthAfterCesarean/  This group is specifically for supporting women seeking pregnancy support, postpartum recovery and planning for future pregnancy after cesarean section.
Life After Inverted T
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Life_After_InvT/  For women after they have had an Inverted T Cesarean Section.
Through Her Hands
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Through_Her_Hands/  Spiritual support for Pagan women that have had cesarean sections.

Type 1 Diabetes

Kids Diabetes
http://groups.msn.com/KidsDiabetes/  This group is for parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes.

A note regarding the lists that I am no longer on: I did not leave them because their info was bad, those lists aren't even listed here.  Usually, I left because the subject wasn't a top priority for me anymore or I gained the knowledge that I needed to proceed on my own.  Some lists I stay on in digest mode or no mail so that I can go back when I need to.

I also used to belong to several local FreeCycle e-lists, that overlap my area.  Go to http://www.freecycle.org to find a list in your area.  It's a great way to get rid of things you no longer need (declutter) and find things that you need but maybe can't afford at the moment.  I've seen everything from books to bikes to appliances to t-shirts go through these lists.
